Feeding Trial: Effects of TipTopp Pond and TipTopp Gut Probiotics on Growth Performance, Survival, and Water Quality in Whiteleg Shrimp (Penaeus vannamei) under Controlled Laboratory Conditions
A 42-day feeding trial was conducted in collaboration with ShrimpVet Laboratory and Minh Phu AquaMekong Co., Ltd., using four treatments, including a control (T1) and three TipTopp probiotic treatments (T2–T4) with varying doses of TipTopp Pond for water treatment and TipTopp Gut for feed top-coating, applied to juvenile SPF shrimp in triplicate tanks.
Results showed that the highest-dose TipTopp treatment (T4) provided the greatest improvement over the control (T1). The control group had a final mean weight of 14.41 g, FCR of 1.23, and survival of 76.30%, whereas T4 reached a final mean weight of 16.30 g, FCR of 0.92, and survival of 86.67%.
Water quality parameters remained within optimal ranges across all treatments, with lower total ammonia nitrogen (TAN) and nitrite levels observed in the probiotic-treated group.
The study concluded that TipTopp probiotics can significantly enhance shrimp growth, feed efficiency, and survival compared to the control, demonstrating clear potential for improving aquaculture productivity.
